Two Local Non-Profits Collaborate with Local Artisans on This Exciting Art Exhibit

Art League of Hilton Head and Lifelong Learning of Hilton Head Island host “Side-by-Side: People, Places & Things of the Lowcountry”

“We are thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration between two local non-profit organizations, Lifelong Learning of Hilton Head Island and Art League of Hilton Head,” says Amy Wehrman, Academy Manager. “Our upcoming art exhibit features a side-by-side theme of People, Places & Things of the Lowcountry. The exhibit showcases the beauty of the Lowcountry through the lenses of local photographers and the skillful hands of our local artisans.”

Local artists teamed up with local photographers and recreated a photograph into their own medias and styles, resulting in a truly unique and captivating collection. The exhibit will showcase each artists recreation next to their paired photographer’s image of inspiration. We invite you to join us in celebrating the beauty of our community and the talent of our local photographers and artisans at this one-of-a-kind exhibit.

There will be an Opening Reception on Wednesday, October 18, 5-7pm. Attendees will be asked to cast their vote for favorite photograph, favorite recreation and favorite pair.

Lifelong Learning is a non-profit offering continuing education for mature adults. Its teacher volunteers hold over two dozen classes during two semesters every year. Class subjects include history, philosophy, art, gardening, architecture, and more. Students can attend an unlimited number of classes each semester for a low flat fee.

Art League Academy offers art classes, demos and workshops taught by professional art educators in all media and for all skill levels, including true beginners.

Side-by-Side: People, Paces & Things of the Lowcountry—A Collaboration of Art league of Hilton Head and Lifelong Learning of Hilton Head

Exhibit: Monday, October 16 through Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Art League Academy will be open 10am-2pm each day of the exhibit.

Opening Reception: Wednesday, October 18, 2023, 5-7pm.

ABOUT ART LEAGUE OF HILTON HEAD

Art League of Hilton Head is the only 501(c)(3) nonprofit visual arts organization on Hilton Head Island with a synergistic art gallery and teaching Academy.

Art League Academy welcomes artists and students in all media at all skill levels, including true beginners. Taught by professional art educators, students can choose from many art classes and workshops that change monthly. 

Art League Gallery features local artwork in all media created by more than 170 member artists. All artwork on display is for sale and exhibits change every month. Located mid-island inside Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, next to the box office. Art League Gallery open every day Monday - Saturday 10am – 4pm & Sunday 12 – 4pm plus 90 minutes prior to all Arts Center Performances.
