"Watercolor: Loose Techniques for Painting Summer Landscapes" a 4-week online course with Alex Sharma (July 2026)

Your registration fee includes access to the live course, plus each weeks recording to rewatch as much as you like for up to 30 days following the last week of the course.
This 4-week online course explores the vibrant colors and textures of summer landscapes in places we love. Through live Zoom sessions, you'll learn essential watercolor techniques—including wet-in-wet, glazing, and dry brush—as we paint water, sky, trees, flowers, rocks, meadows, and mountains. The objective is to capture the spirit of the colors and textures rather than a detailed realistic representation. We'll accomplish this through expressive brushwork, color mixing, attention to values for the illusion of distance, and thoughtful composition.
Registration is limited to ensure each participant receives personalized one-on-one attention from instructor Alex Sharma. Prior to the course start, registrants will be asked to send one landscape scene of their choice to Alex. Alex will select four scenes—one for each weekly session—so all participants will have the opportunity to interact with Alex about their chosen landscape and receive individualized guidance.

NOTE:
Please be sure to Download & Sign-Up for Zoom ahead of time, it's free! We will send you the Link to the session the days leading up to the first class. Late registrations will receive the link the morning of the first class. You will be able to join the waiting room at 9:30am to ensure you are set up and ready to go. Students will receive a copy of the video on the next day, on Friday, which will be good to re-watch as many times as you want for up to 30 days following the end of the 4-week course.
We encourage you to ask questions throughout the class because odds are if you're thinking it, someone else is too. We ask all participants to stay muted unless asking a question so that we don't pick up any background noise and ensure students can hear Alex and that our recording is clear as well.

REFUND POLICY:
Ticket purchases to Art League of Hilton Head events are final. Credits or Refunds will not be given for missed or classes/workshops.
If a class or workshop is canceled by Art League of Hilton Head a full refund will be given.

| Instructor Bio: |  Born into a family of artists, ALEXANDRA SHARMA learned early a unique awareness of form and space that is manifest in her work. A painter, print maker, sculptor, and art professor, Alexandra has a Fine Arts degree and has studied at the Sorbonne, France, and Oxford University, England. Her work spans over twenty-five years and she is known for unique visual imagery in her paintings and her ability to capture the moment as she works primarily en plein air. Alexandra is a founding member of the Multi Media Arts Guild, Kingston, Canada, and member of Hilton Head Art League, Apple Pie Painters, Northview Group of Artists, and a lifetime member of the American art honorary, Delta Phi Delta.
