Discover the beauty and spontaneity of watercolor as instructor Alex Sharma introduces you to the essential techniques and tools to start painting with confidence in this beginner-friendly workshop! If you’ve ever wanted to explore the vibrant, transparent world of watercolor but weren’t sure where to begin, this class is the perfect place to start.
Under the guidance of a former university art professor, you’ll learn all the fundamentals of classic watercolor painting—from setting up your color palette and understanding different types and weights of watercolor paper to mastering brush techniques, color mixing, and proper care of materials. Each concept will be demonstrated and practiced, giving you plenty of hands-on experience as Alex leads you step-by-step from design to still life in the studio.
Detailed handouts are provided, and all materials are available for use with a $20 supply fee. If you already have your own watercolor supplies, feel free to bring them along.
Come ready to paint, learn, and enjoy the creative flow of watercolor!

In addition to the registration fee, students should bring $20 cash to pay for use of supplies, all of which will be provided for you, or, bring the supplies listed below.

This class requires zero experience. It is specifically designed for beginners!

Ticket purchases to Art League of Hilton Head events are final. Refunds will not be given for missed or classes/workshops.
If a class or workshop is canceled by Art League of Hilton Head a full refund will be given.

| Instructor Bio: |  Born into a family of artists, ALEXANDRA SHARMA learned early a unique awareness of form and space that is manifest in her work. A painter, print maker, sculptor, and art professor, Alexandra has a Fine Arts degree and has studied at the Sorbonne, France, and Oxford University, England. Her work spans over twenty-five years and she is known for unique visual imagery in her paintings and her ability to capture the moment as she works primarily en plein air. Alexandra is a founding member of the Multi Media Arts Guild, Kingston, Canada, and member of Hilton Head Art League, Apple Pie Painters, Northview Group of Artists, and a lifetime member of the American art honorary, Delta Phi Delta.
