Immerse yourself in the expressive world of color and form in “Cut, Color & Create: Matisse Inspired Collage” with Art League instructor Joyce Nagel. This dynamic half-day workshop invites artists of all levels to explore the bold, joyful spirit of Henri Matisse through the art of paper collage.
Participants will begin by creating contour drawings of real-life objects, then transform them into vibrant compositions by cutting and arranging colored paper on Bristol board. Guided by Joyce’s expert instruction, students will discover how shape, color, and design work together to create harmony and movement.
By the end of the session, each participant will take home a striking, Matisse-inspired collage—a celebration of creativity, color, and personal expression.
SKILL LEVEL:
This class is appropriate for students of all levels. In addition to the registration cost, students should bring $10 cash to pay the instructor for materials, that will be provided.
REFUND POLICY:
Ticket purchases to Art League of Hilton Head events are final. Credits or Refunds will not be given for missed or classes/workshops.
If a class or workshop is canceled by Art League of Hilton Head a full refund will be given.

| Instructor: | Joyce Nagel |
| Instructor Bio: | JOYCE NAGEL was born in Buffalo, NY. She received a BS in advertising design from Rochester Institute of Technology and an MA in printmaking from Wayne State University. She is a Member of Excellence in the Southeastern Pastel Society and a Master Pastelist of the Pastel Society of America. She has received many awards from regional and national pastel societies. Most recently Joyce won Best of Show for her oil at Art League of Hilton Head?s 2015 Biennale Exhibition. Currently, Joyce and her husband Don, teach weekly classes at the Art League Academy in drawing, design and landscape in the medium of your choice. They have teamed up to do pastel workshops in France, Italy, Africa and throughout the US. She is a partner of the Maye River Gallery in Bluffton, SC, exhibiting her work in pastel, oil and acrylic. |
