Instructor Bio: | DENISE PALMER is a native Philadelphia-suburban who relocated to the lowcountry with her husband and two dogs in 2017, where she was immediately inspired by the beauty of this part of the world. Denise picked back up her love for polymer clay after putting it on the back burner while raising her two kids. She is grateful for the beauty she lives around in the lowcountry and is always finding colors, textures and ideas to create from. Denise’s company’s name is Calilou Clay, which is named after her two pups, Cali and Louie, who are always at her feet when she is creating. Her pieces are handmade using a plastic-based polymer clay. Each one-of-a-kind piece is then baked in the oven. Denise uses mixed media in her creations that she feels set her apart from other polymer clay artists, including Hilton Head beach sand, metal, leather and rattan. Folks find her jewelry surprisingly lightweight which ensures their return in purchasing multiple pieces. View Denise Palmer's Instagram |
