Come and learn about the stages of the papermaking process as we discuss variations of proper studio set up, preparing pulp, mixing additives and natural dyes, sheet forming, pressing and drying. We will also cover a selection of creative techniques, which you will have time to explore.
We’ve been gathering our binder material for months so get excited!!
Both beginners and seasoned artists will enjoy this low-pressure workshop as Debi encourages students to try new techniques that might be outside of your comfort zone but will result in a one-of-a-kind masterpiece! Arts and Crafts document our world so come learn a new craft with us!
NOTE:
In addition to the registration cost, students should bring $10 cash to pay the instructor for materials, which she will provide for you. Please bring exact change to ensure a timely start.
LEVEL:
This workshop is appropriate for true beginners, intermediate, or advanced artists who are looking for a laid-back experience and a style to help you refresh your brain and make beautiful art at the same time.
REFUND POLICY:
Ticket purchases to Art League of Hilton Head events are final. Credits or Refunds will not be given for missed or classes/workshops.
If a class or workshop is canceled by Art League of Hilton Head a full refund will be given.

Instructor Bio: | I'm DEBI WEST and I have been teaching children through the Visual Arts for 25 years. I'm now taking my experience to School Districts and Teachers everywhere because I know, firsthand, how STUDENTS Learn! Hands-On Projects = Authentic Learning! Teachers need to know that our kids learn visually and through hands-on experimentation and manipulation so the ARTS matter now more than ever! I am Nationally Board Certified with 25 years of teaching experience in K-12 art education, arts integration, curriculum writing and project-based learning. I am beyond excited to share my knowledge because when we work together, the ultimate winners are our children our most priceless asset! I want to bring my innovative teaching and leadership styles and experiences to teachers, students, districts, art education associations and universities across the nation because I know first hand that: Hands-on Learning = Authentic Retention! |
