Instructor Bio: | Toledo, Ohio, is where LYDIA CHOJNACKI was born and raised. It is also the home of the University of Toledo and Toledo Museum of Art where she graduated with an Art Specialist (K-12) Degree with a communication minor when Lydia was in my mid-forties. She taught in the public schools in Toledo and York, PA for 10 years. She has taught students from age 2 to 92. She’s taught art in a preschool in Boulder, CO and senior citizens at a Senior Community in Arlington Heights, IL. From 2012-2014, She taught adult and children’s jewelry making classes at the Art Academy of Art League of Hilton Head. Lydia was bitten by the bead bug in the 1990’s. Over the years, her work has evolved from simple jewelry pieces to complicated classic designs that incorporate semi-precious beads, wire work and a variety of bead stitching techniques. Uniqueness and quality craftsmanship are the tenets of her work. Brilliant and bold colors, whether in combination with other colors or the intensity of one color, are the hallmark of her jewelry designs. Lydia continues to explore bead stitching with various size and shape beads whether with thread/wire and/or bursts of color combinations. As an artist, creativity is as important to her as breathing. It is what helps her to balance out her day-to-day life. Lydia exhibits and sells her works at the Art League of Hilton Head Gallery and Maye River Gallery. She was also one six jewelers who were featured artists in December of 2015 and 2017 at the ALHH. |
