When one is painting a portrait—whether a person or animal—the eyes are all-important.
Alex will demonstrate how to get the illusion of depth and liveliness and the particular eye shapes of several different animals—including birds. This illusion is obtained by value variation and color mixing and layering for depth.
Alex will be demonstrating in watercolor, but the color mixing and layering are the same for all media. Come prepared to paint in your medium of choice.
NOTE: Each participant will receive a high-resolution image of the final demo painting along with any important notes Alex wishes to pass along, and, a recording of the demo available for the ticket purchaser to re-watch for 30days after the conclusion of the demo. These pieces will be sent on Monday following the demonstration.
