IN-PERSON: "Palette Knife Painting in Oils or Acrylics" with Alex Sharma

in Oils or Acrylics

with Alex Sharma

WHEN: Tuesday (9:30am to 3:30pm)

November 29, 2022

WHERE: Art League Academy
(Located South-Island at 106 Cordillo Pkwy)

This introduction to techniques and methods for painting with a palette knife will get you started on a wonderful, and freeing, way to paint.
We often think that the palette knife will only be useful for painting highly textured subject, or for working in a thick, impasto method. It does texture in wonderful ways, but, imagine painting beautiful, smooth water with reflections and dramatic skies with a palette knife. Once you learn how to hold and load your palette knife with paint, these effects will seem to happen automatically as you paint.
The methods are the same for both oils and acrylics and Alex will demonstrate using both media.
