"Open Abstract Class in Non-Objective Abstract and Representational Abstract Landscape" with Art Cornell

This course is appropriate for all artists wishing to advance their level of understanding and capabilities in abstract work. It is for intermediate and advanced students who have an art background and/or have been in previous abstract classes, or who have been doing abstract work.

Non-objective abstract work is without any true identity in the representative world. It is a pure creation of expression. Representational landscape as the name implies is work that is recognizable, done in an abstract or different way.

This course will be taught in HEAVY ACRYLICS. 



Ticket purchases to Art League of Hilton Head events are final. Credits or Refunds will not be given for missed or classes/workshops.

If a class or workshop is canceled by Art League of Hilton Head a full refund will be given.

Heavy Acrylic Paints
*Not Liquid Craft Acrylics

Surface of Choice
*Heavy Paper, Canvas or Panels
*NOTE: I use 140lb WC paper in a 9x12 tablet

Various Palette Knifes
Straight-Edged Ruler or Putty Knife
Brushes, the more the better with fan brushes preferred.
Paper Towels (Bounty)
Disposable Gloves
Any current works you want to discuss

Instructor: Art Cornell
Instructor Bio:
ART CORNELL is an acclaimed photographer, poet and painter of abstract art. His works reside in private and corporate collections throughout the United States. He has judged numerous art and photography shows throughout the Lowcountry. In addition, he has written five poetry books and contributed his poetry to numerous regional publications. He is also recognized as a national Concourse automotive judge. Currently Art exhibits at Art League of Hilton Head. His website is

Art has assisted with the Arts program at Memory Matters, an organization dedicated to assisting individuals suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Recently he received certification in art therapy from Cognitive Connections. Art is also an instructor at Art League Academy, where he offers a number of classes, workshops, and private one-on-one or group lessons.
