Calling all beginner watercolor enthusiasts and those who are interested in watercolor but have never tried it! Nurture your creativity through the relaxation and inspiration of this beginner watercolor workshop! This workshop is the PERFECT way to explore and express your inner artist. If you are a beginner, you have come to the right place! Chris Dreyer specializes in teaching beginner watercolor students the fundamental art techniques necessary to express yourself through art!
Through personalized art instruction, this beginner watercolor painting workshop will teach you a wide variety of techniques, including paintbrush usage, color mixing, color application, how to choose subject matter, how to find your unique painting style, and more!
Through this warm, non-judgmental, and encouraging approach to beginner watercolor painting, our students learn quickly as they celebrate their creative progress!

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Join Wisconsin-based artist and instructor, Chris Dreyer, for this exciting, information-packed, 3 half-day watercolor workshop designed specifically with those with zero to little experience!
Materials Included: No materials are included in this class. A list of materials you should bring with you will be provided upon registration.
Requirements: PLEASE BRING:

Watercolor Block (15-20 sheets)
*Glued on all 4 sides!
12" x 16" is a good size. I recommend Arches cold press watercolor block or individual sheets to ensure you have a good quality product.

1" Flat brush or larger
(Used for Larger Washes)
3/8" Angle Brush
(Used for Smaller Washes & Some Detail Work)
#2 Round Brush
(Used for Detail Work)
NOTE: I don't recommend spending a lot on brushes yet. After you Find what brushes work for you, then invest in good quality for those you use the most.

I suggest to start with the Primary Colors:
Cadmium Yellow
Cadmium Red
Alizarin Crimson
Ultramarine Blue
Phthalo Blue
The Secondary Colors:
Hookers Green
Sap Green
& These Additional Colors:
Raw Umber
Yellow Ochre
Burnt Sienna
Payne's Gray

NOTE: Paint comes in tubes or cakes. Either is acceptable. I prefer tubes for ease of mixing.

Many varieties of palettes are available. I recommend plastic with plenty of compartments for mixing paint.

A toothbrush, for splatter technique

Instructor Bio: CHRIS DREYER is an award-winning artist, designer and illustrator.

Currently, Chris exhibits at regional shows and galleries throughout the Midwest and is represented in numerous private collections. Although he continues with a commercial design and illustration business, his passion is capturing the beauty of nature through watercolor.

He currently teaches watercolor classes and workshops at ALHH Academy.
